  1. Awesome!

  2. Great tutorial. Very helpful.

  3. I already know how to do this but a very good tutorial. :)

  4. Awesome, very nice tutorial.

  5. @jkruse05 Quick answer: Yes. func_detail is just like normal geometry in
how it looks and is lighted. It doesn’t block visibility, that’s basically
    the only difference.

  6. I’m glad you like it! Got any suggestions for future tutorials perhaps?

  7. Hint and skip please

  8. thanks!

  9. thank you. i have been looking for tutorials at this level of
understanding. i DO prefer to know the reason behind things. that gives me
more skills than just following along behind someone who doesn’t know why
    they do what they do.

  10. You should be able to change textures on things even if they are
func_detail. To turn it back into a normal brush you select it and then
press the “toWorld” button in the right toolbar where it says “Move
selected”. That will turn any brush entity back into a normal brush.

  11. No problem! Glad you like them. :)

  12. Good tutorial.

  13. That’s next up!

  14. Cool didn’t know that 😀

  15. Cool tutorial!

  16. It’s next up on the list. :)

  17. To fix that problem I think you can select several brushes at once and turn
them all into one single func_detail.

  18. im still confused about why do source make things harder like that… what
happens if i make everything func_detail?

  19. So that’s why it took so long to compile my supermarket. All the shelves
    where pretty detailed so…

  20. You’re welcome. Hints are next on the request list! 😀

  21. TIP: Do NOT use func_detail to block off the void! It will create a leak in
    your map!

  22. Hint and skip plase

  23. Man you save my life. I was looking why compliting take so long. Thanks you
for decent hints. I would like to see more videos about mysteries of
    hammer. Enjoy !

  24. Good tutorial!
